Draft for counsel review. Not final.
Privacy Policy
Draft, final text to be approved by Madrivo's counsel.
Draft notes for counsel (preview only)
- Whether a 30 day undo window on a deletion asked for through the privacy rights form satisfies CCPA where the consumer intended an immediate purge. Carried from an internal reference.
- The chat text processor terms. The no training sentence is only as good as the provider contract.
- Governing law and venue, which the policy inherits from the Terms of Use.
- Whether the policy should name the model providers, or describe them by role only. This draft describes them by role.
- Confirmation of the state statute section numbers marked
[counsel to confirm]below. - Whether the dormant account period of 24 months plus a 30 day notice is acceptable as a published retention period for account data. No statute sets it.
- This draft gives every United States resident the same rights, rather than gating them by state. It is simpler to read and simpler to operate, and it is a commercial choice, not a legal requirement. Counsel should confirm Madrivo wants it.
The consent files as shipped are v2 while this policy describes the v3 texts.CLOSED 2026-09-17. an internal reference and an internal reference are at v3 with the legal v4 §2 lines and the anonymous 7 day case, and an internal reference v1 carries the §3 input notice.
Added by the second legal seat, 2026-09-17
- DMCA designated agent. Registration with the Copyright Office is a prerequisite to the safe harbour for user uploaded photographs. It is a filing, not a clause.
- Verification. This draft matches one email address. Confirm that is enough for a deletion asked for by someone who has no account.
- California wiretapping on the consent certification recording of the quote form.
- Whether continued use of the site carries assent to a material change of terms.
- The enrichment seams. Whether a litigator scrub or a do not call lookup needs disclosure beyond the contact checks row in the table above.
- Two-stage notice at collection (added 2026-09-18). Stage one at upload names the conditional sharing without the California sale label; the sale label, who pays and the opt-out appear at the quote step before any transfer. Confirm this satisfies 11 CCR 7012(e)(2).
Who we are
LEGAL_ENTITY_TBD, doing business as Remodelize ("we", "us"), operates Remodelize and its room specific sites. Remodelize is an AI remodeling design studio. We are not a contractor and we do not perform remodeling work. If you ask for quotes, we send your request to home improvement companies in our network, and those companies pay us for your request. Any contract for remodeling work is between you and that company.
This policy explains what personal information we collect, where it comes from, what we do with it, who we give it to, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have.
Write to us about this policy, or about any request below, at privacy@remodelize.ai, or by mail at POSTAL_ADDRESS_TBD.
What the studio is
The studio is a free tool. You upload one photo of your bathroom, and we use artificial intelligence to make a picture of that room finished in a style and budget range you pick. You can ask for changes in a chat, and each change makes a new version we save with the others. The pictures are illustrations, not plans, drawings or quotes.
If you want to talk to someone about the work, you can send a quote request. Home improvement companies in our network pay us for it. That is one of the ways we make money. If we add others, we will say so here before they affect what we collect or who we share it with.
What we collect and how long we keep it
The table below is the notice at collection required by California law (11 CCR 7011 to 7012): the category, why we collect it, whether we sell or share it, and how long we keep it. "Sold or shared" means we give it to a home improvement company in our network in exchange for money. California law treats that as a sale whatever form the payment takes, so we call it one.
| Category | Why we collect it | Sold or shared | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|---|
| The photo of your home that you upload | Make your first version, save it with your project | Yes, only if you ask for quotes | 7 days if you have no account. 12 months after your last account activity, or until you delete it |
| The versions the studio makes from it | Show you the design, save them to your project | Yes, only if you ask for quotes | Same as the photo above |
| What you type in the studio chat | Work out the change you asked for and make your new version | No. Never sent to the companies that quote you | 90 days from the message, or until you delete the project or your account |
| Your account (email address, plan, sign in records, settings) | Sign you in, keep your projects, write to you about your account | No | While your account is active. If you do not sign in for 24 months we email you, and delete it 30 days later |
| Your quote request (name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, answers about your project) | Send your request to home improvement companies so they can quote you | Yes, while the request is salable | 30 days from your consent, up to 90 days if you re-confirm. Not sold after that |
| The record of what you consented to, including the exact contact permission text you saw and when | Show what you agreed to and what we sent, if we are ever asked | No. Kept to answer a challenge, never for marketing or sale | 5 years |
| Your opt out and do not contact choices | Keep your choice working | No | Kept permanently, so the choice never lapses |
| Device and usage information (IP address, the approximate area it indicates, browser, pages viewed, actions in the studio) | Run the site, keep it secure, find abuse | No | 90 days |
| Checks on your contact details, and what a company told us came of your request | Make sure your request reaches you, keep out fake requests | No | With your quote request |
| Your marketing choice | Send you project ideas if you asked for them | No | Until you unsubscribe |
| Information in the web address you arrived on, such as a campaign code | Know which campaign brought you here | No | With your quote request if you send one. Otherwise 90 days, with the technical data above |
You also see this notice in two stages. At the upload control, the visible layer gives what we use your photo for, that we send it to a company only if you ask for quotes and explain first, both retention periods, and your right to delete; the full notice is one control away. At the quote step, before anything is sent, a second notice says what goes to the companies, that they pay us for your request, that California law counts that as a sale, and how to opt out.
The full schedule, including the internal records behind these categories, is on our retention page.
You can opt out of the sale or sharing described above. See "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" below.
Where this information comes from
We collect it directly from you when you use this site, upload a photo, type in the studio, create an account, or send a quote request. Device and usage information comes automatically from your browser and device, and campaign information from the web address you arrived on.
We do not buy marketing lists or advertising profiles about you. Before we send a quote request we may check, through a service provider, that the phone number and email address you gave us are real. A company that receives your request may tell us what came of it. We use both to run the service and to keep out bad requests, never to build an advertising profile of you.
What we do not collect
We do not collect or sell sensitive personal information. We do not ask about health, disability or mobility, and we do not ask for your date of birth. We do ask you to confirm you are 18 or older. Location data is removed from your photo file when you upload it. We never run facial recognition or any other biometric analysis on your photo.
We work out your approximate area from your IP address. That is not precise location, and we never collect precise location.
Please do not type personal details into the studio chat.
How the AI works on your information
Your photo and what you type in the chat go to an AI service provider under contract, so it can read the change you asked for and make your version. We do not run the models ourselves.
Our arrangement with each provider does not permit them to use your information to train AI models, or to use it for anything else. Two things back that up. On every text request the studio makes, we set the provider flag that refuses data collection. And before this sentence goes live, we record each image provider's published API data use terms and check them against it. We do not send your photo to a provider whose terms lack that restriction. If a provider's terms change, we change this policy and stop using that provider until the terms line up again.
We keep, with each version, the model that made it, the date, and the instruction the studio built from your request. That is what lets us show you how a picture was made. After 90 days we delete what you typed, keeping a one way fingerprint of it and the structured change it produced, so we can still look into abuse and answer that question.
Who we give information to
Home improvement companies in our network. Only if you ask for quotes, and only the companies on the partner list version you saw when you consented. We send them your photo, the versions you made, the list of changes you asked for on each one, your project details and your contact details. We never send them anything you typed in the studio chat. There is no field for it in what we send, and the build fails if one is ever added. They use it to prepare and deliver your quote. They may not sell it, pass it on, or use it in advertising, and they must delete it when we tell them to.
Anyone you share a link with. If you create a share link, anyone who has it can see that project's pictures without signing in. The link stops working after 30 days and you can switch it off sooner. Search engines are told not to index it. Only share it with people you mean to show it to.
Service providers. Cloud hosting, storage, email delivery, the AI providers above, consent certification and bot protection. Each is bound by contract to use your information only to provide its service to us.
When you fill in the quote form, a consent certification service records how you completed it, so we can show what you agreed to. It does not record what you type in the studio chat.
Legal and safety. When the law requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our users or the public.
We do not share your information for cross context behavioral advertising. There is no advertising pixel and no conversions API on this site. If that changes, this sentence comes out first and the table above gains a row.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
You can opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information at any time, from the link on this page. Opting out stops any future sale or sharing, but does not undo a request you already sent. Your opt out applies across every room type on this site, not only the one you are looking at.
We honour the Global Privacy Control automatically. If your browser sends that signal, you do not need to do anything else.
If you have opted out we cannot send a quote request for you, because sending it is the sale. You can still use the studio, keep your projects, and hear from us about your account. If you want quotes later, turn the opt out off on this page first.
Checking your current status…
Your rights, and how to use them
Depending on where you live, you have some or all of these rights: to know what personal information we hold about you and what we have done with it, to have it deleted, to have it corrected, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information, although we hold none.
California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and Montana all have laws of this kind, and more states have passed their own with the same shape. We give everyone in the United States the same rights, so you do not have to work out which law covers you.
You can ask for a copy of your information in a portable file, or get it yourself from your account page. We do not use your information for targeted advertising and we do not profile you.
How to ask. Use the request form on this page, or email privacy@remodelize.ai. Tell us which right you want to use.
How we answer. Within 45 days. If we need more time we may take one more 45 day period, and will tell you before we do.
How we check it is you. We check your request against the email address on your account or your quote request, and may email that address to confirm. For a deletion we ask you to confirm once more, because we cannot undo it after the undo window closes. We use what you send us to verify the request and nothing else.
Someone can ask for you. If you give another person written permission, they can make a request on your behalf. We may ask you to confirm directly that you gave it.
If we say no. We will tell you why, in writing, within 45 days. You can appeal by replying to that message, or by emailing privacy@remodelize.ai with the word APPEAL. We will decide the appeal within 60 days and tell you in writing why. If we refuse the appeal, you can complain to your state Attorney General. (Texas requires this route with no revenue or volume threshold, Tex. Bus. & Com. Code 541.054. Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Montana and Oregon have an equivalent duty. [counsel to confirm the section numbers])
We will not punish you for asking. We will not deny you our service, charge a different price, or give a different level of service because you used any of these rights.
Deleting things
A project. Deleting a project puts it in the trash, and you can restore it for 30 days. After that we purge the photo, every version and the chat for good, and tell any company that received a copy to delete theirs.
Your account. Deleting your account starts the same 30 day window. Sign in during that window and it stops. After that the account, its projects, photos, versions and chat are purged.
Through the rights form. A deletion you ask for through the form on this page is completed within 45 days in every case, whatever the undo window would otherwise allow.
What survives a deletion, and why. Deleting your project or your account does not delete the record of a quote request you already sent, or the record that you asked us to stop contacting you. We have to keep those. The consent record proves what you agreed to, and the do not contact record is what keeps your choice working. Neither is used for marketing, and neither is sold. The screens that ask you to confirm a deletion say so before you confirm.
Children
This site is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, market to children, or ask for anyone's date of birth. If you believe a child has given us information, write to privacy@remodelize.ai and we will delete it.
Marketing email
If you ticked the optional box asking for project ideas, unsubscribe from the link in any of those emails or from your account page. Emails about your account and your quote request are not marketing and continue either way.
Security
Photos, versions and chat are held in our own cloud storage and database, reached only by the site and by staff who need access. Links we give a home improvement company to your images are signed and stop working after 72 hours, and we log every delivery. No system is perfect, but we hold only what the product needs and delete it on the schedule above.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The version number and date at the top of the page tell you which version applies. If a change affects how we use information we already hold about you, we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
